Guide
Our purpose
Our purpose is to make Yoruba cultural knowledge easier to discover, read and study online while preserving Yoruba terminology and acknowledging that traditions vary by town, lineage and community.
Guide
How we handle cultural variation
We avoid presenting one local practice as automatically universal. Where traditions differ across Ọ̀yọ́, Ilé-Ifẹ̀, Ekiti, Ondo, Ìjẹ̀bú, Ẹ̀gbá, the Republic of Benin, diaspora communities or particular lineages, we aim to keep that variation visible.

Sources and documentation
Reference trails may include UNESCO documentation, academic research, museum collections, historical materials and clearly identified community or practitioner sources. Source quality and the type of claim being made matter.

Corrections and growth
This knowledge house is designed to grow. Terminology, citations and historical context can be improved as stronger documentation becomes available.
